NAM TU LIEM SECONDARY SCHOOL: RAISING LEGAL AWARENESS AND EQUIPPING
STUDENTS WITH ESSENTIAL SELF-PROTECTION SKILLS
On
the morning of 8 October 2026, Nam Tu Liem Secondary School, in collaboration
with the Xuan Phuong Ward Police and Honda Hong Hanh Co., Ltd., organised a
programme to raise legal awareness and equip the school’s administrators,
teachers, staff and students with skills to prevent and respond to risks in
everyday life.
Attending
the programme were Major Nguyen Chi Manh, Deputy Chief of the Xuan Phuong Ward
Police; Mr Nguyen Minh Hai, Deputy Director of Honda Hong Hanh Co., Ltd.; as
well as the school’s Board of Management, teachers, staff and students.
During
the programme, students gained knowledge of road traffic laws and safe
motorcycle travel, including traffic signs, how to respond to situations on the
road, how to wear helmets correctly and how to maintain a safe sitting posture.
One
issue particularly emphasised by the officers was the emerging scam known as
“online kidnapping”. Students learned to recognise tactics used by fraudsters
impersonating police officers, prosecutors and court officials to intimidate
and psychologically manipulate victims, instruct them to keep matters secret,
cut off contact with their families and transfer money. Students were therefore
advised not to disclose personal information, passwords or one-time passwords
(OTPs); not to click on unfamiliar links or install unknown applications; and
not to transfer money in response to requests made by phone or via social
media.
The
programme also helped students understand the harmful effects of drugs, the
factors that can lead to drug addiction and each individual’s responsibility in
drug prevention and control. At the same time, it strengthened their awareness
of the importance of obeying the law and proactively protecting themselves and
their communities.
Through
this programme, Nam Tu Liem Secondary School continues to foster students who
understand the law, know how to protect themselves and act responsibly, contributing
to a safe and civilised school environment.
